The 2026 Steel Structure White Paper highlights accelerating digital dividends across the industry. AI intelligent welding, full-process BIM collaboration and unmanned "dark factories" gain widespread adoption; fully automated production lines lift per capita output by over 40% compared with traditional workshops. MCC 22nd Metallurgical Construction Group built two prefabricated construction industrial bases in Zunhua and Huaibei, deploying high-efficiency construction solutions for industrial parks, steel workshops and livelihood projects at scale.

Shenzhen’s total prefabricated building area has surpassed 144 million square meters, forming a benchmark model built on industrialized foundations, digital empowerment and modular efficiency. The Shenzhen Construction Industry Ecological Valley hosts thousands of enterprises, with China State Construction Engineering Science and Industry and Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Construction Group exporting modular technology to Indonesia, Australia and 18 other global markets. Tens of thousands of workers completed smart manufacturing skill training, while universities deepened industry-academia integration to nurture talent for digital transformation.
In the data center segment, CIMC Group delivered multiple prefabricated modular data center projects to Malaysia, Japan and Indonesia in recent years. The 2312 Malaysia project, supporting 60 MW IT load, was the world’s first ultra-large prefabricated modular data center upon completion, offering integrated full-cycle services including preliminary design, standardized factory fabrication and fast on-site assembly. Digital simulation and virtual construction drastically cut rework rates and improve engineering quality for heavy steel structure and high-precision component manufacturing.
